Arriving just as the R107 SL was being phased out into the R129, the 300 SL pictured here falls into the category of the ‘late cars’ produced between 1986 and 1989. In today’s market, they are highly revered due to their revised handling, better braking, larger wheels, and a slightly revised interior over the earlier R107s. Equipment levels also increased, along with a smart new range of colours. Shades such as Diamond Blue, Almandine Red and Impala Brown were luxurious new metallic paints that have become synonymous with these late cars.

Flick through the service history and you’ll notice primarily main dealer service records throughout the vehicle’s life; with Mercedes-Benz Mann (Isle of Mann) featuring in the service book since 2006. SLSHOP then took ownership of the vehicle in 2020, carrying out remedial works before selling it to the current owner who has sadly been unable to enjoy the vehicle.
