Supplied new to J F Garnett of Harrogate by Croft & Blackburn, this 300SL changed hands twice early in its life before coming into the care of Sharon Oates of Doncaster, who kept the car for several years. Unfortunately, the original maintenance book was mislaid during this time, but the next owner, David van Lachterop of Cannock, went to a great deal of trouble in 2004 to not only obtain a replacement book but also contact the previous owners and servicing garages to piece together the car’s history.  David owned the SL until 2010, when with the mileage at 55,000 it was sold to the present owner who has covered a mere 4,000 miles since it was added to his collection.
