1961 Mercedes-Benz W121 190 SL

The 190SL was an instant hit when released in 1955 combining a svelte sporting look inspired by the famous 300SL roadster with proven saloon car based drivetrain making it a beautiful roadster which was much more suitable for everyday use and at a lower price point. This has appeal has endured over the years and the 190SL is now one of the most sought after classic Mercedes models. Our 1961 example started its life in the USA before being imported to the UK around 2012. It has since been treated to a full nut and bolt restoration by a well known marque specialist. This included a full colour change and re trim to its current silver over red leather combination. The current owner purchased the car from a well known UK classic and supercar dealer around 4 years ago and has used it sparingly since then. As you can see in the photographs, the condition of this 190SL really is exceptional with factory fresh looking bodywork and paint, a beautifully trimmed interior and immaculate engine bay. The matching hardtop is present along with a new softop in matching red. The look is set off by a set of period style whitewall tyres. The car 190 fires into life nicely and is a pleasure to cruise in with a torquey engine and suspension and brakes which feel good as new.
