1985 Mercedes Benz R107 280SL with Brazil Leather (273)

A very usable 280SL with some desirable options, in a rare and interesting colour combination. A nice late version of the early cars, complete with ‘Mexican hat’ alloy wheels and air conditioning, it will be granted ‘historic’ status next year making it MOT, Road Tax and, crucially, ULEX exempt.

This well cared for and honest car presents well with some room for cosmetic improvements. Sadly the Becker Mexico as specified in the data card is missing, but the new owner can console themselves with the presence of the wood gear knob, a nice aftermarket addition. SLSHOP have recently completed a full bulkhead restoration meaning this car is solid, and ready for its next adventure.

Accompanying the car is a detailed service history file, including the original service book which shows a lifetime of careful maintenance. We have no doubt that the silky smooth six cylinders will continue on for another hundred thousand miles with one very happy owner at the wheel of this rare and desirable classic.
