1986 Mercedes R107 420 SL

I bought this delightful V8 SL in 2016 and I am the 6th owner. I have driven it for approximately 10,000 miles.  It has been well maintained by me and previous owners with a big history file.  Since owning this car I have spent over £24K with SL Shop for servicing and various works including the bulkhead.

This car is almost 37 years old but is not showing its age.  Its not quite showroom condition but it's close.  Some small marks to paint work do not detract from this cars stunning looks.  The combination of Petrol Blue with Creme Beige leather I find very appealing and I'm told is rare.  The dashboard clock is not working and I have never figured out the cruise control.  A powered soft top was fitted early in its life and is working well.  A new soft top was fitted just before I bought the car.  The hard top has a stand (which was responsible for small scratches on roof).  The stand has now been improved.

The service record is comprehensive with 22 stamps in the original book and 3 in the new one.  SL Shop have carried out servicing and numerous works for me, all documented.  A short extract from the list includes bulkhead, chassis legs and Idle control module refurb, new A pillar seals, window seals and recently new front discs and pads.  Total spend over £24K over the 6 years I've owned it.  After battery drain problems, now rectified, I had an isolator fitted.  The powered soft top has had two service visits and works well.  I am told the car was once part of a private collection and has been garaged for all of its time with me.  MOT until 9 September 2023 There will always be something that could be done to cars like these.  During its time with me I have tried to keep on top of the important ones.
