It feels a little while since a low mileage Nautical Blue car graced our showroom with it’s presence, but this exceptional 300SL is more than deserving of a prime position. Showing just 14,000 miles from new, this cherished Mercedes-Benz is every inch the collectable icon.

The current (and third) owner of this car acquired it from an elderly gent who bought it used from Mercedes-Benz of Belfast back in 1990, when it was 3 years old and showing just under 10,000 miles. During this ownership in Ireland, the car covered less than 4,000 miles in 28 years, sitting in a private collection alongside an extremely low mileage Pagoda and a plethora of significant motorcycles. He changed the oil every few years, and this car has not seen rain since 1990.

Prior to this gent, that car was purchased new and collected from the factory by the first owner. A receipt dated October 1987 accompanies the car, detailing the ferry passage on the day the car returned to the United Kingdom. The original printed dealer price list from 1987, and the original factory data card are present. We are told that the factory hard top has been stored safely beneath a blanket and not used in 30 years.

An R107 300SL showing less than 20,000 miles will always be an alluring prospect, but the story behind this one and that beautiful paintwork make it a wonderful addition to your collection.
