1999 Mercedes-Benz R129 SL320 with Black Nappa Leather interior (231)

Said to be ace Mercedes-Benz designer Bruno Sacco’s favourite creation, the R129 SL has an appeal that the models which came after it lacked. It filled the preceding R107’s shoes fairly well, and while on sale for a shorter duration, it managed to capture hearts unlike anything else. As an affordable but appreciating classic, the R129 does have many tricks up its sleeve — and the more you get to know it, the more you’d discover.

Available here is a late-model (1999) R129 SL320 with just over 50k miles on the clock. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic with a Black Nappa Leather interior, the SL320 also came with a long list of optional extras included. Some of which are as follows: ESP, electrically adjustable and heated memory front seats, electrically adjustable steering column, rear seats, headlamp washer and wiper, and MB Audio radio.

It was also specified with a black soft top, wood+leather steering wheel, additional features for the UK market, owner’s manual and service record in English, instrumentation with miles, and an anti-theft warning system.

Registered in October 1998, the SL320 comes with a service record, old MoT certificates, invoices, etc. According to the service book, its first service was in the year 2000 while the latest was in June last year at an odometer reading of 49,908
