1989 Mercedes-Benz R107 300SL

Well here’s something really special. A last-of-the line 300SL with an astonishingly low mileage which is backed up by a continuous MoT history from 1992 till 2007, when it was put into storage having covered just 10,000 miles. Recently recommissioned the car is now offered for sale for the first time in 33 years! This striking Signal Red 300SL was delivered from Sindelfingen to H L Gorner the Merecedes-Benz dealers in Wigan early in 1989. Gorners registered the car in their own name with their registration number 1HLG and retained it for about a year before Ronald Batchelor took possession in 1990. Ronald enjoyed the SL for another two years before selling it back to H L Gorner with 7,900 miles on the clock, and they in turn sold it to its long-term owner, Cynthia Marchant for £28,000 in July 1992. Mrs Marchant, a Mercedes-Benz Club member, did very little with the car, using it only occasionally for local trips and visits to classic car events before placing it in storage in 2007. In due course David Marchant inherited the 300SL and returned it to the road in December 2024 with the mileage now reading 10,250. This outstandingly original, unrestored 300SL comes with the original handbook pack, tool roll and spare key. The accompanying history file contains an original sales brochure and 15 previous MoT certificates. One for the connoisseur.
