2001 Mercedes-Benz R129 Silver Arrow 500SL

Towards the end of the R129 SL’s production run and before the launch of its R230 successor a limited number of cars were built with an enhanced specification and were designated SL500 Silver Arrow in tribute to the legendary Mercedes-Benz racing cars of the past. They were all finished in an especially lustrous metallic paint complemented by a two-tone Nappa Leather interior. The Mercedes-Benz SL500 Silver Arrow Limited Edition we’re offering is one of the 100 UK supplied cars and was first registered by Arlington of Bedford in March 2002 to a local man, Mr. Debenedictis. Robert Fish from Surrey owned this car from late 2003 until 2010, when it was bought by the well-known comedian and actor Steve Coogan. Steve enjoyed the car for just over four years and 8,000 miles before it passed to Felicity Tillett of Chelmsford, by which time it had still only covered 48,000 miles. Some 3,000 miles and four years later Robert Sheppard of Salisbury became the fifth owner before the Siler Arrow passed to the present owner in 2020 with 52,000 on the clock. The mileage showing now is 63,700. The car comes with a comprehensive service history from Mercedes-Benz dealers and specialists and received new brake discs and pads all round just 700 miles ago.
